In the Westfjords winter is king. We love getting out in the snow and now the days are getting longer by the day and we try to make the most of them with skiing, enjoying nature and then inside having a hot drink to warm up.
What to expect
March like other winter months can vary quite a lot when it comes to weather. I can be packed with snow with some days the roads closing or it can be mostly rain and wet. March in the Westfjords has about 10 daylight hours per day so keep that in mind when putting together your schedule.
What to pack
- Rainproof/windproof jacket
- Fleexe jacket/lightweigt wool sweater
- Rain pants/snow pants
- Sturdy walking shoes with a good grip
- Gloves, hats and scarves
- Swimsuit
- Thermal underwear
- Waterproof hiking boots
- Warm socks
