Raggagardur (A garden for Raggi) is a family playground in the village of Sudavik. Created by Vilborg Arnardottir in the memory of her son Ragnar (Raggi) for all families to enjoy and create a place where they could spend time together enjoying each other company. The aim with the garden was to create a family attraction for both local people as well as an attraction for travelers, thus help in developing the local community through tourism. Heydalur is a paradise for bird enthusiasts and photographers. Visitors can enjoy horseback rides in the picturesque Heydalur valley, along with numerous family-friendly attractions. The hot natural pool, located just a few minutes' walk from the country Hotel Heydalur, offers a unique relaxation experience. As you soak in the warm waters, you’ll feel the fatigue melt away. Many believe that lounging in the hot pool at Heydalur revitalizes you, and for many, this is indeed true. 

Tálknafjörður swimming pool has to offer many activities. There is an 25 meter outdoor pool, two hot tubs, sauna, cold tub, baby pool and waterslide. There is also a lift for disabled people to assist in entering and exiting the pool. In the building you can find a gym. Next to the swimming pool is the towns campsite, which is open from 1st of June – 1st of September. On the campsite you can find kitchen around the clock, outside barbecue, toilets and showers. There is also a washing machine and a dryer available for small price. Everybody is always welcome, there is coffee on the house. Suðureyri is a fine example of an Icelandic fishing village. The village only began to form in the early 20th century, growing rapidly with the mechanisation of the fishing industry. Recently, villagers seized the opportunity of combining the fishing tradition with tourism, and every summer sea anglers from Europe visit the village and try their luck at catching cod and halibut out in the fjord. Those who prefer more fish-friendly activities can feed the cod in the lagoon just outside the village. Suðureyri has in recent years taken big steps towards an environmentally-friendly and sustainable policy, all from catching the fish to serving it to the customer.All basic services can be found in Suðureyri. The swimming pool is one of the most popular in the area, being one of the few outside pools, so it often gets crowded on sunny summer days.

Few things are more cozy than relaxing in a hot pool in the middle of nature or a nice swimming pool in one of our villages. The Westfjords has an abundance of easily accessible natural pools for you to enjoy.

Önundarfjörður is a particularly pretty fjord, even by Westfjords standards. This is partly due to Holt beach, which is a sweeping golden-sand beach and dune system which curls out into the fjord and is a bit like Spain for a few hot days of the year. The rest of the time it's a great walk and the dunes are a protected eider duck nesting area.

The Sheep Farming Museum is an interesting and entertaining exhibition about the Icelandic sheep and sheep farming. The exhibition focuses on providing diverse entertainment for all ages. The children can enjoy themselves in their own room, in which are toys and colour books, while the grown-ups can view the exhibition. The museum also has a small science room where people can take a look at various things through a microscope. One of the main attractions in the Sheep Farming Museum are the lambs, which the visitors can feed with milk from a bottle. Sævangur also houses a small and cosy coffee bar where guests can sit down and relax over a cup of coffee and genuine Icelandic cakes and bread. Handicraft- and souvenir store placed in the lobby of Sævangur sells crafts made mostly by locals. If you’ve ever visited the town of Ísafjörður, you will certainly have noticed the immense rim of flat-topped mountains which surround the fjord. A notable feature of the mountains is a massive depression, like half a bowl, just over the road from the airport. This is Naustahvilft – often known by its nickname: ‘the troll seat’. The story goes that a troll was rushing home to avoid being turned to stone by the morning sunlight. After running swiftly and arriving early, she sat and rested with her aching feet in the fjord. What was left was the peninsula of Ísafjörður town between her feet, the deep harbour where her feet had been, and the “seat” where her backside had been. Either that or it’s a hanging valley left over from the last Ice Age. It’s a short but challenging climb, so why not go up there and decide for yourself and don’t forget to sign the guest book.

 In the Patreksfjörður fjord, you'll find a charming waterfall nestled in a picturesque setting. As you drive on road 62 towards Patreksfjörður, take a right turn about five minutes after passing the Kleifakarl monument. The turn leads onto a small gravel road, so proceed with caution. Follow this road, and you'll reach the waterfall within a few minutes. Although it may not appear powerful at first glance, the waterfall is indeed strong, It's essential to practice maximum safety around the waterfall. Please note that there are no designated parking areas or infrastructure, so ensure you respect the environment and take all your litter with you.

Hvítanes is situated between Hestfjörður and Skötufjörður fjords in "central" Ísafjarðardjúp. As you arrive you should check the rocks at the shore. Hvítanes is one of Iceland most easily accessible seal colony, where large numbers of Harbour seals can be found relaxing on the rocks just meters from the shore. The farmers at the Hvítanes farm have made the area more accessible by making a car park and setting up benches. Make a stop at Hvítanes to get a closer look at these fun and playful animals.

 Samúel Jónsson (1884-1969) has been called "the simple-hearted artist". When he received old-age pension, he built an art museum and a church, made models of distant landmark buildings, and painted works of art in Selárdalur, without having had any training in art. At Brautarholt in Selárdalur he made statues of seals, lions, a seahorse, ducks with their young on their backs and of Leif Ericsson. Not only that; he built a church he intended to preserve an altarpiece he had made that the parish church had rejected. Over the past two decades, the Association of the Samúel Jónsson Art Museum of has restored the sculptures and buildings by Samúel and rebuilt his residence in Brautarholt. The museum is open to visitors during the summer season and everyone is welcome to have coffee in the house of Samúel.  

The town of Ísafjörðurlies in Skutulsfjörður fjord. The fjord ends in two distinct valleys: Engidalur to the left and Tungudalur to the right. Tungudalur is the playground of Ísafjörður. This is where you’ll find a small but perfectly formed waterfall, one of the region’s best established and maintained forests, a full scale golf course, dozens of beautiful summerhouses, and the town’s famous skiing centre. The towns excellent campsite is located in Tungudalur, great camping facilities, a playground and a beach volleyball course.
