Ísafjörður Library is thrilled to welcome British author and former Hnífsdalur resident Sarah Thomas to discuss and read from her remarkable ecological memoir set in our beautiful region - The Raven’s Nest: An Icelandic Journey Through Light and Darkness, in conversation with Anna Sigríður Ólafsdóttir.
Described by author Robert Macfarlane as ‘fascinating’, ‘lyrical and thoughtful’ by Cal Flyn, The Raven’s Nest is a profoundly moving meditation on place, identity and how we might live in an era of environmental disruption. It is also a fascinating view of our community and culture through the eyes of an immigrant learning Icelandic.
Sarah has been touring the book around Europe in events inspired by Icelandic kvöldvaka, and the audience is warmly invited to bring knitting and mending projects to do during the event.
The Raven's Nest will be available for sale (3000 ISK cash only) and Sarah will be signing copies afterwards.
