Amazing Westfjords
Located in Ísafjörður, Amazing Westfjords offers a guided tour around Ísafjarðardjúp bay on Ölver ÍS 432 and Straumur ÍS 433 where our guide will educate you on the bay’s history along with the wildlife and the raw nature of the area.
Hundreds of thousands of seabirds nest in the bay every summer with puffin, artic tern and eider ducks as the most common species. Humpbacks and Minke whales are amongst frequent visitors of the bay along with the seals that seem to do little else but lie on the shore and enjoy the warm summer sun. Ísafjarðardjúp bay is brimming with life during the summertime and is it safe to say, that this is a tour nobody should miss.
Amazing Westfjords also offers sea angling on Straumur ÍS, where up to 5 passengers have the opportunity to catch a fish in a traditional way. Rostungur takes you out to Ísafjarðardjúp, which is every man’s dream for sea angling, where the seas are rich with cod, pollack and redfish among other types of fish. On board Rostungur you will spend approximately 3 hours fishing, fillet the fish and then people are more then welcome to take the catch of the day home.
