The multi-musician Línus Orri has been very active in folk music in recent years. He is on the board of the Kvæðamannafélagið Iðunn, society of the old Icelandic rímur. He is also the choir director of the Kvæðakór and plays a number of instruments, some of which he has made himself. Línus Orri plays a few songs and performs a poem in Steinshús with the nyckelharp player Leo Exibard.
Karólína Rós Ólafsdóttir (b. 1997) is a poet from Akureyri. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in writing from Goldsmiths University in London and is pursuing a master's degree in writing at the University of Iceland. In her poetry, she often explores themes around ecocriticism, feminism, folklore and digital reality. Karólína published the poetry collection Hversdagar in the Pastel series in 2018 and the poetry book All in Animal Time with Spam Press in Scotland in 2023. In addition to this, she has participated in and written texts for performances and art exhibitions in Great Britain, Germany and Iceland. Karólína Rós performs some poems in Steinshús.
Sölvi Halldórsson (b. 1999) is a poet from Akureyri. Previously, Sölvi has published the collection of poems Piltar (2018) in the Pastel series and a collective work about the "Potatoe theory revised" (2021) in collaboration with the writing group DISKO!F. Sölvi recently received a New Culture grant from the Center for Icelandic Literature for the collection of poems "When we were cave dwellers", which is expected to be published this fall. Sölvi's poems deal with family, love, domestic customs and other design artifacts.
Together they are half of the poetry collective MÚKK. The Westfjords Development Fund is sponsoring the event.
