Jóna Þorvaldsdóttir opens a photography exhibition in Samúel Jónsson´s church in Selárdalur, Arnarfjörður
The exhibition features black-and-white analogue photographs, created using infrared film, that capture the atmosphere of Selárdal before the restoration of Samúel Jónsson's artworks and buildings began under the auspices of the Association for Samúel Jónsson´s Art Museum. Partially hand-coloured with pastel watercolours and ink, these photographic works reflect Jóna's personal experience of this remarkable place and the unique artistic legacy of Samúel Jónsson. Jóna Þorvaldsdóttir studied photography at the European School of Photography in Poland and has since specialized in historic photographic processes. She has exhibited her work extensively in Iceland and internationally.
