On Friday August 22 the renowned musicians Kersten Osgood, Bárður Poulsen and Krstian Blak will perform in Edinborgarhúsið in Ísafjörður. Tickets can be bought online or at the door.
This trio brings together three distinct voices from the Nordic jazz scene. Kresten Osgood is without a doubt one of the most active drummers and multi-instrumentalists from Denmark in recent years. Since the 1990s, he has played with some of the biggest names in jazz and free jazz, including Paul Bley, Brad Mehldau, Peter Brötzmann, and countless others. When Kresten plays, both the audience and fellow musicians are drawn into his incredibly free, sensitive, and spontaneous music.
Bárður R. Poulsen has spent the last 14 years living and performing on the Norwegian jazz scene, and during that time he has helped found bands such as Wako, Espen Berg Trio, and Flukten. He has toured and performed in countries such as Japan, China, Greece, and South Africa, as well as extensively throughout Europe and Norway.
Kristian Blak is a Danish/Faroese musician, composer, and passionate arranger. With his jazz ensemble Yggdrasil, he has released over a dozen albums since the 1980s — some in collaboration with Norwegian musicians such as Tore Brunborg and Bjørn Alterhaug — and has gone on extensive tours around the world.
This trio is an exciting gathering of three very different musicians, united by an open and adventurous musical spirit.
