First days of summer

First days of summer

In Iceland the seasons are rather blurred. We still keep old traditions, following the Old Norse calendar which divides the year into only two seasons, winter and summer. Hence, the official First day of Summer, Sumardagurinn Fyrsti, is held annually on the first Thursday after 18th of April.
